Since seeing the Indiana side of Wolf Lake on Day 167, I’ve really wanted to see the Illinois side too. Today we headed up to the William W. Powers State Recreation Area which is adjacent to the western edge of the lake. The park sits along the Hegewisch neighborhood of Chicago.
We enjoyed a nice walk along the Burnham Greenway through a surprisingly bio-diverse area. But for the large electric transformers overhead, it’s easy to forget that one is so near heavy industry and a large metropolitan area.
Post Script: I’ve posted more pictures from this walk using WordPress’ Daily Prompt: The Natural World.
