Day One Hundred Fifty-five

A Walk Through the Fire Station

My son’s wonderful paraprofessional aide wanted to do something special today after school to celebrate the last day of school with my son.  She invited us to meet her at the fire station after school where her son is a full-time fireman, and he gave us a guided tour.

I had been to the fire station on a field trip years ago with my son’s second grade class.  Although that trip included a tour of the jail and the police station, this tour was like a back stage pass of the fire station!  We even saw the sleeping quarters, locker room, and workout room.  My son got to climb around a fire truck and an ambulance.  (We were going to take a ride, but, unfortunately, the chief showed up for a meeting.)

We had a really nice time.

Good day, good tour!
